The NLCRC’s Annual Strategic Planning Session – Fall 2023

On the 3rd and 4th of October, members from the National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition (NLCRC) will hold the annual strategic planning session in Phoenix, Arizona.

During this meeting, the NLCRC members will frame and detail the strategic priorities going into 2024, including the petroleum packaging sector’s response to the states with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), future legislative challenges, and the year’s progress with the Atlanta Lubricant Container Recycling Pilot.

Addressing a challenge as complex as recovering post-consumer petroleum packaging for recycling is particularly challenging for companies when products are distributed throughout multiple regions and markets. To address this, the NLCRC is also exploring technology and innovative solutions to solve critical challenges in collections and processing approaches for hard-to-recycle packaging.

Collaboration between the industry members is critical to better address the petroleum packaging recycling challenge and deliver results with the creation of systemic, collaborative solutions for post-consumer packaging recovery and recycling.

The National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition or “NLCRC” is an industry-led technical coalition established by a committed group of industry leaders in lubricant and associated plastic packaging manufacturing, focused on establishing solutions for post-consumer recovery and recycling of plastic lubricant containers.

NLCRC members include Berry Global, Castrol, Chevron, CKS Packaging Inc., Graham Packaging, Nexus Circular, Pennzoil - Quaker State Company, Petroleum Packaging Council, Plastipak Packaging,  Safety-Kleen, and Valvoline.
