Get To Know NLCRC

The NLCRC started by listening to Consumers, and a recognition by a group of leading lubricant and packaging producers to proactively address packaging re-use.

The idea of the coalition formed in early 2020. Had it not been for the pandemic, this coalition might have been formed inside of six months – a testament to the commitment of its founding members, many of whom are competitors, to collaboratively address an industry challenge.

NLCRC’s founding members include Castrol, Valvoline, Pennzoil - Quaker State Company, Graham Packaging, and Plastipak Packaging.

Our goals over the first several years are to develop pilot projects throughout the US to test the viability of a market-wide program. As we learn more from these pilot projects, we will begin to scale these pilot programs in multiple Consumer and Commercial markets.

Our endgame is to establish a program across the US, where there is enough supply of recovered lubricant packaging to meet increasing demands, and where all stakeholders economically benefit from the system.
