Strategizing Success: NLCRC Fall Member Meeting and Planning Session 2024

From October 22 to 23, 2024, the National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition (NLCRC) will hold its Fall Member Meeting in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Hosted by RPM eco, members will convene to report -to-date progress on initiatives and industry collaborations.

During this meeting, the NLCRC members will convene our three working groups (EPR Support, Packaging Design, Advocacy) to review progress toward the 2024 milestones that were set at our Spring meeting, and to plan activities and strategic direction for the year ahead.   Members will review the evolving US EPR legislative landscape and establish a clear approach to advocacy and ongoing monitoring of legislation and policymaking through 2025.  Additionally, members and invited guests will embark on a local “field trip” for a first-hand look at Canada’s approach to lubricant container aggregation, collection, and recycling. We anticipate productive discussions, valuable learning opportunities, and the establishment of a solid foundation for the NLCRC’s activities in 2025.

The NLCRC acknowledges that addressing the challenges in the petroleum packaging industry requires collaborative efforts beyond the capabilities of any single company. Industry-wide cooperation is essential to effectively tackle the recycling challenges associated with petroleum packaging, ensuring systemic solutions that enhance post-consumer packaging recovery and recycling for petroleum and related products used in transportation and industrial applications.

The National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition or “NLCRC” is an industry-led coalition funded by a committed consortium of value chain stakeholders focused on establishing solutions for the recovery and recycling of packaging for petroleum-based and related products utilized in the transportation and industrial applications Industry.

Members include Berry Global, Castrol (part of bp Group), Chevron, CKS Packaging Inc., ExxonMobil, Graham Packaging, Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association, Lucas Oil, Nexus Circular, Pennzoil - Quaker State Company, Petroleum Packaging Council, Plastipak Packaging, RPM eco, Safety-Kleen, and Valvoline.
